Ha ha. We saw another pattern called Anchors Away that he really liked now that I have all the ocean fabric. I said we'll make him Anchors Away when he finishes boot camp. I need to get started before he changes his mind!

So sneakers out, and anchors in? Is this the one you settled on? Just remember the color recommendation given by a forum member for costies (orange and aqua, not rw&b) Best of luck

Ok, so here's what it looks like. I did it according to the Missouri Quilt YouTube video but I changed the sashing. She sewed individual pieces on each square. I sewed the squares together then added the sashing. Don't think it will be done by Saturday, but it will be close. Now they've asked me to make 5# potato salad and a crockpot of pork & beans! Priorities must shift every day.

That looks really cool. He's gonna appreciate it, I'm sure. Can you buy the potato salad or do you have that homemade expectation ?

Yeah, they could buy it but I'm guessing as they were planning my son said, "Ask my mom if she will make the potato salad & beans. I don't mind.
