how big is the print? I would want to highlight this fabric doing something like a churn dash or even a square in a square. I know they are simple patterns, but they would highlight the shoes and let you use the red, white and blue to accent them.

This is what I did for my grandson with several sports fabrics in the corners, a basketball orange for the center and a denim blue in the side middle. Can't find the picture. I like the disappearing blocks.

I don't have a suggestion for what quilt to make but I do agree that you don't want to chop up this cute, fun, colorful fabric into borders and sashing. It deserves to be showcased!

Everyone leaving home for the first time wants to look mature. Good luck and congrats on your grandsons success
I think this would make a great guy quilt. Very nice.

How about Yellow Brick Road. Easy to make, you just need 12 fat quarters. We make them all the time for a mans quilt.

Look up Shadow Boxing on the internet. I enlarged the blocks on this one to make a memory quilt for a young man out of some of his fathers shirts. It turned out great and really would show off the focus fabric. It is a Craftsy pattern.

Look up Shadow Boxing on google. It is a pattern from Craftsy. I made this as a memory quilt for a young man from some of his father's shirts. I did enlarge the blocks as I was making a king size quilt, but it came out very nice.
