Actually, why not? I have a book of 500 blocks--all 4". I wondered why I couldn't make them up and make my own sampler quilt.

Did you ever do this? I was just at a quilt show and a quilt was on display made with 4 inch blocks from different piecers that had been had been swapped by one quilter. Looked a lot like a Dear Jane
