Default Janome 6600P tension problem?

I'm sewing 6 1/2" squares for a rag quilt and half way through, the seams started looping. There are only one or two on each side. I can't figure out what could be wrong. I've thoroughly cleaned, changed needle, everything I know to do. Any ideas?

Rethread again, including the bobbin. Make sure it is correctly done and it is correctly through the take up lever. (I think that is what it is called) I have had this issue before with my 6600. It was human error.

Did you remove the bobbin case to clean underneath?

Mine does that once in a while....turn off the machine, then back on....the tension discs should be back to working ok.....or....sometimes the thread on mine will come out of the arm thingy that goes up and down (have no idea what the proper name is....lol)....either of those two cause me the most grief!

Try threading the take up lever backwards. The thread has a real tendency to come out of the take up lever depending on what you're sewing on. Threading it backwards (from left to right) keeps it from doing that.

it's amazing what collects under there. When my programmed stitches weren't working right, that was all it took.
