Janome sewing machine help
#1
I just got a new Janome sewing machine earlier this week, which I'm loving. But here's my dilemma - I wanted to practice my free motion quilting this weekend, but I didn't get to the dealer in time this afternoon and they're closed for the weekend. So I was wondering if anyone could explain to me how to put the free motion foot on the machine.

Is there a Janome web site? I have a Janome, but mine looks way different than yours! I have to take the whole foot assembly off, it is not a snap on foot. Have to use the screw on the side to take the whole foot assembly off and then fit the free motion assembly on around the screw. Does that make any sense? Will try to take a picture of it and post it, but i am at home with dial up, so it will be slow! :?

How do you get the assembly part where the red button is off. That assembly needs to come off so the fmf can clasp the shaft and be fastened. Mine has a screw to use to do this. I can't tell if yours has it or not, but I can see the metal finger thing to graps the shaft.
Does this help? :?

Yes, that is exactly right, good luck with your free motion, and congrats on getting a wonderful machine. I love my Janomes :!:

I have a Janome MC6600 and there is a Yahoo Group just for owners of the 6500 & 6600. You have to join, but there is a ton of good info from users. I don't get the daily email format, just the web-only format.
Just go to Yahoo and do a search. There may even be more groups for different machines, don't know about that.
