Has anyone made their quilt labels using the printable cotton fabric for ink jet printer? Were you pleased with it? If you use these type labels on your quilt can you still wash the quilt if need be? Any info. on these labels would be greatly appreciated. My friends and I have been paying to have our labels made. Gas prices and the driving distance to take & pick up the label when finished is getting old. sss

I just did labels with "Printed Treasures" fabric sheets in my ink jet printer. My printer is one of the ones with a U path and it still worked great. It says it's washable and I got one wet and it didn't run.

I bought some to use but it says hand wash only so I haven't used it. I don't hand wash. Ever. And I don't use cold water to wash, ever.

I have used it. It was a little stiff, but it softened after a couple of washes.

Some soak the labels in Retayne to fix the ink. :D:D:D

I print my labels all the time. They are wonderful. I even include a picture of myself or the person the quilt is for on the label. Be sure to rinse it and press it like the directions say. I washed a couple of my quilts and the labels were just like new.

I make my labels on my embroidery machine but I've used Printed Treasures to print photos for quilts. There are several different ones. Just make sure you get the one that says it's washable. I think the pictures turn out best when I change the setting on my printer to make the higher quality print (it uses more ink).

I have been successful in using the computer cotton, I dont remember the name, in quilts that are frequently washed. The label is just as good as when printed. I have made one with the picture of the recepient, but that is a Christmas present so it hasnt been washed yet.
