Look at office chairs with wheels or breakfast stools I have a breakfast stool but it has no wheels and I have to move after doing one area. This is good for me as I stretch move etc very frequently and don't have problems.

Look at the link that Dunster posted - the few people that I know using stools are using either that one or one so similiar I can't tell the difference. If you are planning on really using it - now is not the time to be frugal, get something that someone has successfully used.

I have a friend with a saddle stool and she loves it so much, she takes it with her to retreats. She does not need to get up to move when she quilts; the stool has wheels and it rolls on both carpet and hard surfaces. It is definitely near the top of my wish list!

We're looking at getting saddle stools for our shop. While we do stand at times at the LA, when doing ruler work we like to sit. We'd looked at Nolting's warehouse while we were there last week, but found that Staples sells them online for about half the price. Definitely on our "to purchase" list to help save our backs

I bought this after checking all kinds and i love it. The only reason i chose this over the saddle chair because of the back support and the seat is comfy:

I am looking at purchasing a saddle seat also to use when doing detail work at the front of my LA. What is the benefit of the "saddle" type seat compared to just a regular padded seat?
I found a saddle seat stool that adjusts up to 35" high for $131 and free shipping, but just looked at the bar stool with regular seat that Charming just posted. I don't need the back support as I will be leaning forward anyway, but wonder about the differences in the seats.

RRHAIGH - I guess the difference is what it feels like on your behind! I never sat on a saddle style chair but understand lots of longarmers love that style. They just roll along as they need to.
It's on my to buy list also. Thanks ladies for posting the links!
