I just increased my long arm from 80" to 120" (yeah I can finally do larger quilts!) and am curious about the leaders.
Looks like the largest size I can find on the internet to buy, is 105". Is that right? What about the other 15"? Is that as long as the leaders need to be? Sorry if these are dumb questions, but...?????

Thanks for any help you can offer.

There is no reason you cannot make the leader clothes any length you want. Some people have short ones they use for crib size quilts, remove those and have another set for a Twin, and one for Standard size and so on.

Personally, my frame is set at 104" and i made my leader clothes the same length. I use them for any/all size quilts.

It is your frame, so make them the size you want. I don't think there are any RULES and no Quilt Police. If you want 120" leaders, go for it!

Happy Quilting.

I just bought a used tin Lizzie and had to make new leaders. I just bought ticking from joann's. Not sure that is the right thing to use but that is what was on it (only on one poll).

I just buy canvas and then serge the edges....so you just make them to fit your table....whatever size it is.

I have a set that came with my machine when I bought it. Then I bought on sale a set of HandiQuilter leaders that are at least 11 ft long. Then I made another set using fabric - duck - from Joann's ... serging the edges and sewing on the Velcro..

I can now change which quilt I am working on in case a rush quilt comes in.

What type of machine do you have? I have a Gammill Optimum Plus and I have leaders that are 128 inches long. So they are definetly available.

Thanks,
