We got back from NC last night and guess what? Our daughter took me all the way down to Mary Jo's. haha She said at one point during the trip that it had better be some "blankety blank" big fabric shop. It is quite a long way from her home. But she got into it once we were there, she loved how the fabrics are all set out with the like designs together. The people who work there were very helpful too. I was looking for fabric with glitter in it to make a Christmas wall hanging. I of course got more than I was looking for, but that is a nice store. We have one similar out here down near Disneyland, but it's only about a third of the size of Mary Jo's. If I'd have had some of your phone numbers I would have called you, or like they say -- y'all.

How cool you got to go to Mary Jo's! I'm turning  ! My BIL & family live in NC, but the last time DH & I went I didn't know about Mary Jo's - you'd better believe we're gonna detour the next time out. Its great that you got to enjoy all that with DD, too!!

It was neat, and then to make hubby happy, we went into South Carolina to the King's Mountain battlefield. We even walked the 1 1/2 mile trail through it. Made it a long day, but super, especially that we were with DD. She lives way too far from Mom and Dad.
We were fascinated with the kudzu. It's amazing.

I got to experience Mary Jos back in the summer of 2000 when my ex dh (well he was still the dh, but only for a couple more months) and I drove from Halifax, Nova Scotia to Florida. He had some business meetings in Greenville, SC (he works with Michelin Tires.. or that is he did when I was with him...) so we made a road trip of it. The company sucked but the trip was fun!! LOL

Anyway, getting side tracked.... While he was on business in SC, I met up with a quilting buddy I met online back then and we drove to NC to go to this store. I was in HEAVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish I had purchased more than I did! oooh what fabrics I wanted! I did buy a few fabrics and patterns while I was there, but I enjoyed it sooooo much! i would love to go there again!

I love going to Mary Jo's. I try to go at least every other month or so.

Did you go to Long Creek Mills? He is about 5 miles from Mary Jo's and has the best assortment of threads at exceptional prices. I go there too when I am up that way.

:D :D :D Mary Jo's is my favorite place to go shopping in the whole world!!!

We live about 1 1/2 hr from there and I go as often as I can. So, show us a picture of what you bought!!!
I am planning another trip now. It takes me all day. I shop in the morning, go to lunch, and then go back that afternoon.

So glad you got to go, now you can shop on line and know that her material is A-1 quality!

Sounds like you had great fun :!: I only live about 45 minutes away from Mary Jo's, and still don't get there as often as I would like. I DO need to make a trip as soon as the kids get back in school. (Can't take them with me with all the "I'm bored" "When we leaving" lol

I didn't get much, I was looking for some glitter fabric to make a poinsettia wall hanging or table runner for Christmas, found two glitters and two nice reds.

    One more picture of fabric.
