I have started quilting this flannel Chevron quilt. I ended up using 813 Mettler Silk finished which matched better than the Dove gray from Aurifil. I had yellow and white in Mettler but I don't have a dark gray. Can I use the Aurifil dark gray which is 50/2 with the Mettler which is 50/3? Thanks!

Sure you can. They are the same weight ( I've quilted without issue using 3 different weight threads) being same weight the fact one is 2 ply the other 3 isn't going to be apparent. No one is going to know except you that you used a different thread.

Absolutely! The 3-ply will be slightly thicker (more like an Aurifil 40/2 thread) and it is a touch shinier but the strong difference in value should be enough to sufficiently hide those minor details.

Oh how I love your quilt. Looks like everyone agrees - the thread will not matter.

I couldn't add anything to the subject you were asking about, the girls seem to have you set. But, I really admire how many of your blocks with hard to match up fabrics are so nicely aligned. That must have taken some time and planning.
