I can't believe it - I went to a few yard sales after my Drs appt this am and I bought a Singer 301 in cabinet for $10
It works, but does need a good cleaning and oiling. Now to find out when it was made, etc.

Awesome!! Can't wait for you to get the info on it...I had to e-mail Singer for the info on my vintage baby...they were very helpful, and responded with what I needed to know in less than 36hours! (This was not on a week-end tho...)
Have fun with your "new" purchase,
Kif

The serial number will be on the bottom under the needle area. Post it here and someone can help you with the date. It will be between 1951 and 1956. Mine is a 1956 and a great little machine. Your looking for 2 letters and several numbers. Wonderful find at a great price!
