when my late husband was in rehab (after losing a leg)
they put rice in a big white cotton sock, tied a knot in
the end and heated it to fit around his neck and also to put on his shoulders. You might try that and see if it helps you.

I don't put ties or velcro, but I put fabric "handles." Just baste in some straps made out of the same fabric as the bag or tube then stitch up your bag. I always use plain flannel, it's so soft, and I make a sort of pillow case, envelope style, in a printed flannel for the removable outer cover. They last forever. What great small gifts they are. This past Christmas I made them with cases in a Christmas print outer cover. Very attractive.

I have one filled with wheat and a handful of cloves.
Very useful. Hubby uses it everyday on his aching back and neck. Just pop it into the microwave next to a small mug of water for about 3 mins. The water is to prevent the bag of wheat from overheating. We all know that there must always be water in the microwave oven.Most of the time it's in the food that we heat up. Since the wheat is dry, half or a quarter mug of water should be placed in the oven next to the wheat bag. This is for those who are not aware of the fact. Not trying to be too clever. Lol!!

I use thistle seeds and I have never used water. I put mine in for 2 minutes. then take out and rotate the "U" bag, flipping it from outside to inside "u" shape and heat for another 2 minutes. This is the recommendation on the commercial one I bought. The ones I make , it works good. If I reheat it when it cools off, I reheat for 2 minutes more. By then I don't need it anymore. Jan

Mmmmmm Wheat and cloves would smell good, too bad we don't raise wheat anymore. I was grinding coffee beans at the store yesterday, I am thinking about trying coffee beans, what do ya'll think?Too strong?

I think you might end up having a coffee explosion all over your microwave. The smell would be nice though! 8-)

Oh I better try a few beans in the microwave first, never thought about them exploding.

This is the one I got from Oralee today. SHe says she is going to sell them on here. Yeah. I may have to buy more for me. It has a velcro strap you can open and put it in the freezer. Or of course the microwave. And wash the sleeve. Thank you Oralee. I am using it in about ten minutes. HUGS
