Mystery Quilted 'pocket'
I have an older friend who has been quilting for a long time. I don't see her often but we do email back and forth. She found this 'quilted pocket' is the way she described it and said someone had given it to her years ago. She can't remember what it is used for. Would any of you have any ideas just by looking at the picture, as to what it is or was used for? Looks like there is a little tab on one side. I don't think it is a pot holder. Hopefully you can judge by her cutting mat, the approx size. Seems like folks always come through here on the QB. She will be excited for me to tell her what you think it is. The back side is just the dark purple all over.

I have one just a bit smaller that has 2 zipper pockets in it. In one pocket I keep my medical card, drivers license, and a credit card. In the other I keep various other store cards. The back has a window pocket, front has a stitched square. Love it! Have another different sized one that I keep tea packets in.

This reminds me of the historical "huswif" women have carried for nearly 800 years to hold their precious sewing tools. It is usually worn hanging at the waist, from a belt, apron string, or other such thing.
Here are some images of antique and modern ones. https://www.google.com/search?safe=a...k1.bebMTFybmc0
