This reminds me of the historical "huswif" women have carried for nearly 800 years to hold their precious sewing tools. It is usually worn hanging at the waist, from a belt, apron string, or other such thing.

Wow! Jan in Va... I have never heard of such an accessory as a huswif. Thanks so much for sharing this interesting fact. I will tell my friend that perhaps she should use her little pocket bag for this. (It doesn't have a zipper. That is just a black piece of trim) Everyone had wonderful suggestions.

Interesting thread for sure! I learned something new from Jan's comment. I have never heard that term, 'huswif' before and I enjoyed following the link. I think the pocket shown at the beginning of the thread can be used for anything desired. Lots of things find new and frequently better uses.
