    Default Need advice or ideas

One of the ladies in our guild did a mystery quilt. It turned out beautiful and another member put it on her blog and she had maybe 30 followers from around the world. After this was all done and we saw how beautiful the quilts were, I told her I thought there should be a way for her to make money with the pattern. She will be doing another mystery in January and will be giving us fabric requirements in September. This lady does mostly scrappy.
I have seen where Fat Cat Patterns and Bunny Hill start out with a freebie then eventually sell the patterns. How would our friend go about something like that? Any ideas?

Many people (designers) self publish their first patterns-taking them to local shops, craft fairs, marketing them on their own to start. There are a number of companies always looking for fresh, new ideas, quilts. Martingale is one publishing company that is (approachable) with new ideas/designs...Many magazines also will accept new designs

If you can turn the pattern into a downloadable pdf then you can sell them on Craftsy. I use cutepdfwriter to change stuff into a pdf. It's a free "printer" download.
