I agree with Debra K. You might even find bias red and white stripe bias binding (from Xmas) already made up from Wrights. You might find it on eBay.

Because I already knew I did not have a red strip in my stash I was going to do the pieced border. As I contemplated the time it would take--it had to be done for delivery tonight--I turned and spied a stripe in my stash that would work great. I also wanted the stripe wider, but it was late at night and I messed it up. But it is done!
So here is my project. I think it is a little blank and I'd like to applique some candy and candy canes around the gingerbreads,[ATTACH=CONFIG]465939[/ATTACH] but it is made to the specifications of an 8 year old. I think she will love it. Thank you all for your help. I couldn't have done it without you.

It looks good. Maybe when the two of you visit, you and she can make any changes she wants. The stripe really does set it off. Joyce in DE

Looks great! i like the thin red strip. I was going to suggest that you might luck out and find a diagonal red and white stripe.

Had a visit at home of said granddaughter. She now sleeps with this little blanket. I twas sooooo rewarding! Thanks for all your help. She did love the quilt
