    Thank you! I haven't washing any of my machine applique quilts yet, so don't know how they will wash. But I think they will be ok. The blanket stitch when set to the lowest settings does well to catch all the fraying of the edges.

    I set the stitch length and width to the smallest settings possible. For the small shapes, I go very slow and pivot often with the needle down. It takes some practice to get the needle at the right position in the stitch pattern when reaching a point so that the points stay sharp.

    I would cut my fabric on the bias and make a very narrow tube and put the seam on the bottum of the vine, press it of course and stitch close to the edges, the bias will twist and turn to forum your vine.

    In the dim dark ages I was taught to machine applique using satin stitch with a matching thread so that is how my Avitar is done.
