Years ago I acquired ties from an uncle and then my dad. I also bought ties at Goodwill. There are lots of great ideas for projects in DADDY'S TIES by Shirley Botsford. Some suggestions are crazy patch, pretty boxes, purses, accents on garments, etc. No, I haven't done any of the projects and the ties are now stored in my cedar chest.

I just made a grandmothers fan quilt from the narrow end of ties. Looks great. French braid would work also.

Thanks for this idea. I am making a quilt from neck ties and wondered what to bind it with.
