Default Need Necktie Scrap Project Ideas

I am in need of ideas for what to make from necktie scraps. I am currently making 2 Dresden Plate quilts for a client and thought it would be nice to do a "surprise" from the leftovers. Thank you.

I have seen several quilts done with neckties. With the scraps, you can do a wonky patch like the one QuiltingKrazy posted a picture of. She is on this forum. http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...t-t176142.html

Or, maybe something like this

And, I saw a pillow from a log cabin block with neckties.

Thanks, Tootsie. I used both ends of the neckties in the quilts. I have the middle sections only, so the projects would need to be small and scrappy.

One lady I knew did a NY Beauty using the neckties. That would take a lot of scraps.

The Dresden plate flowers with stems & leaves appliqued on a piece on single fabric or a pieced background, are striking and whimsical. Especially, if you add a grassy bottom to the quilt and a blue sky with clouds at the top. I, also, saw a Shirt pattern, where all the blocks were shirts and each had a necktie on them. I believe it was a PP pattern.

Are the middle sections long enough to sew end to end for binding? Since neckties are cut on the bias, they make dandy binding.

You could make a small quilt to be displayed on a table. I saw this pattern and thought of this post.

Yes, I have 10-12 inches of a narrow segment of each. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
