    Just had to share this. I have tried all of the suggestions I could find to avoid creating the "Nest" at the beginning of sewing pieces.
    I cut a 1" piece of velcro(sticky kind) using the loopy side and taped it about 5" behind the needle and to the left. Eureka!
    I pull the two threads and place it on the velcro. I then drop my foot, then my needle, reach over to detach thread from velcro and away I go.
    No more Nests.....

    Very creative indeed!! :) I usually do the Leader-Ender thing, which works well for most projects, but sometimes I can't do that, so this would be a great solution. Thanks for sharing!
