Default Janoome 6600 price?

Hello,
I found a Janome 6600 at our loval sewing machine store, that has been serviced, is up & running and comes evertyhing like out of the box. They are asking $1,000 for it. I am wondering if this is good, I want THIS model of the machine, but can not find out if this is a good priced for a used one or not, It will come with a warranty and everything,

Please let me know what your thoughts are on this.
Thank you very much!

I paid $1500 1 1/2 years ago. I heard the new ones were going to be $2500 so if it works good I think it would be a good deal. Make sure you test it before you take it out of the store. Mine only works with good thread. Aurifil is it's favorite. You might want to check this out.

It would certainly be a good price in Canada but I'm not sure about your part of the world. That's about half price here and if it is just like new with a warranty, it should be a good deal.

I paid $1299 for mine in June 2011. If that one has been gently used--and since it will be covered by the warranty--I think it's a good price.

I love mine!! I can use any kind of thread on it and have had no problems. One thing I recommend is the FMQ bobbin case if you plan to use it for FMQ. It is worth its weight in gold, IMO.

Last week I paid $1100 for a demo at a quilt shop in Richmond, TX - just outside of Houston. It had been used as a demo in the shop 11 times. Came in the box with all usual supplies and complete warranty. So sounds like what you found is in line with Texas prices.

Sounds like a fair price. I would try it out before buying it though.

I wonder why some use any kind of thread and others only use expensive thread?

I like it b/c it was a trade in at the same place she had purchased it originally , she up- graded to a long arm.
And this is the same place that I do business at as well.

Thanks for all the help ladies, you are the best!
