Grannies Garden with a Fence
Has anyone seen a pattern for this quilt? It is a regular Grandmother's Garden Hexie quilt with diamonds around each section. https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.n...24419380_n.jpg The name is Grannies Garden with a Fence, I've Googled and just can't seem to locate it.

That's a beautiful quilt!
I have seen a few others done in the similar style and been quite attracted to the look. I think it was in the QB Gallery. Not sure!
I don't have a pattern, though you could easily make your own template piece.
The diamond is just the two outside/opposite points of the hexie.

That is probably the prettiest GFG I've ever seen. I love the "fence" and I love the way she fussy cut the hexies. The "fence" is also fussy cut!!

I found a few references
http://larajanepark.blogspot.com/201...l#.UMSrW3drREM - scroll down quite a bit. Doesn't say how to make it, it's an antique for sale. Just showing that this is an older pattern.
http://amybradleydesigns.blogspot.co...r-absence.html - her grandmother made one and now she's making a GFG - perhaps also with a fence. Might be worth it to ask her.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI...ectorid=229466 - You can get this one on E-Bay
http://www.bharattextile.com/quilt/index.php - ahhh ... some history. This might help - read the description under the picture.

(and could be made from the original hexie too!)
( ........... of course, being such a young thing, you had to prove it with your keen eyesight! )

I have always heard of the diamonds refered to as "connectors". Fence makes it much more interesting. That is a lovely quilt. If you google GFG you will likely come up with lots of tutes. I have seen the diamonds and hexagon pattern on some site, but can't seem to find it now. Good luck with your search.
