    Smile oh my! patch or trim? UPDATE

    Well I guess I'm more OCD than I ever cared to imagine! I did indeed patch, in the pattern of the original block, and I feel much better now. When I first thought of patching I thought it was a crazy idea, but once some of you said it was ok, then I really HAD to patch it. Thank you all so much for taking the time to give your advice. Once I realized I had a problem, the first place I thought to turn to was the Quilting Board. You're all the greatest.

    I agree with Dunster too, just shave that area in a little and bind. No one will ever notice the quilt isn't perfectly square!! (I do this all the time!!!)

    I'm glad you patched in both colors in appropriate places. I personally wouldn't have liked an all light strip alongside those brown strips. It looks great, and if you don't point it out to anyone, no one (but all of us!) will ever notice.

    Good job patching. As with anything handmade, there can be variations. That's the charm of homemade vs. factory made.

    Thanks again to all. I had planned to have my binding sewn on yesterday, but I have found that problem solving is yet another integral part of the quilting experience.
