I think you made a good decision. It looks good. Just more pieces to the pieced top.

Good choice! If you feel the need to hide the patch, you can always use a 1/2" binding.

I'd trim it. With that pattern it won't matter or show.

It's such a narrow gap, I would just trim it back, then sew on the binding. Unless someone comes up close and personal to the quilt, it will not be noticeable. That's just my 2 cents.

Personally I know for certain fact I'd have just shaved the spot and bound it up, because I've done that before! I'm of the "finished is better than perfect" stripe.

I think your patch looks really nice though - since you did decide to patch it I think you made the right decision to make the patch match all the colors instead of just being one color.

I am with dunster and RST, for a home use huggie, I'd just trim that little bit and be comfortable knowing that no one is going to take a measuring tape to it to discover my secret!!

I would patch. After you have quilted it and add the binding I doubt anyone but you will notice.
