Paper Pieced Double Wedding Ring
I have looked at a few paper pieced Double Wedding Ring patterns (i.e. McCalls) but I am still afraid to try curved seams. I have located one on Paper Panache
http://www.paperpanache.com/ecart/PDWRtrad.htm
It appears to have a less "rounded" look to it and am wondering if anyone has used this pattern. If so, would you please tell me if this pattern eliminates the need for curved seams.

I too use to be intimidated by curved seams but I fianlly made the attempt and found they are really not hard at all. I find that pinning well really helps. I watched a couple tutorials first. Grap some scraps and give it a try, GO FOR IT!

Try the drunkards path. When you finish with a few blocks for that, you won't be as afraid of the double wedding ring.
Paper piecing the double wedding ring won't eliminate the curved piecing. It will give you an accurate arc to piece, so it should come out just right.

The very first thing I would do is to make a practice block. If you have never done curved seams, try something simple like a Drunkards Path block and make a few of them. They aren't hard to do and will give you practice for making something more complex.
Don't be fearful of curved piecing. Sew slow and practice on some scraps before tackling the DWR.

Yes, do try and make the Double Wedding Ring. I always wanted to make one, so I tried to do the one on the McCall's site, but couldnt't get the hang of paper piecing. So, I designed my own pattern and came up with this. I found the curves to be pretty simple to do. As the others say, pin, and sew accurately, and you should have no problems. Good luck, and have fun.
