Paying Guild Members Who Teach
#41
Pudge I do feel that is out of hand at our guild it depends some are free and like others has said maybe a gift certificate for a quilt store and or 25.00 to 30.00 dollars. 250.00 dollars would be unheard of at our guild even if a name teacher. if we have a name teacher come in check to see her max then fill the class then our guild will charge each member 15.00 to 25.00 dollars with our guild picking up the balance. quilters are social people and usually we are just anxious to show someone else what we learned

I think it is too much for less than 10 people to pay over $10 a person for a class.
Maybe your guild should set some guidelines as to how much they are willing to pay a teacher whether or not they are guild members. If the guild gets larger, then you can pay teachers more. In the meantime, I'd tell the officer that when you get 25+ members you'll be able to employ them to teach.
