There was a time I didn't like them together (probably back in the day when all our mommas were talking to each other and telling US their strong opinions, too). But I'm okay with them now. Strawberries are different shades of red in the same basket, and they work. If it works in nature, it works! Red and pink flowers in the same bouquet? Yes! Red and pink leaves in autumn? Gorgeous! But you wanna try to keep them both "cool" (blue undertones) or both "warm" (yellow undertones) . Except that I don't care for warm pink because that's what I call peach. Yuck. Saw that too much in the 80s and it can stay there for all I care! LOL.

If you're uncertain, please do post pictures. We can offer our feedback. Might not agree with each other, but hey, we're reds and pinks in this group! LOL

Doesn't Strawberry Shortcake fabric have a bright green in it as well?

hugs, Charlotte

Being sure the reds/ pinks are both from the same side of the color wheel they will be fine. Reds can have an under color of blue or yellow. If the pink and red are both one or the other they should work great together. Look at a color wheel and you will see what to look for.

yes there are greens with the strawberry shortcake - and I have green and red in the main quilt top. But I don't want to add more green... I was just thinking pink would be a softer color to add

MacyBaby your quilt is gorgeous!

The red and pink work beautifully with this pattern. Nice quilt.

I have a friend who did one in pinks reds and browns and it was beautiful! I think part of the trick is not using any of the orange-reds, but sticking to the more rose-reds.
