I know some where here this subject has been mentioned.
Do you prefer to open and press your seams or to one side?

I press to the side unless,as butterflywing says, there are several seams crossing.

My seams match better if pressed open. I press to one side for large pieced blocks and open for small pieced blocks.

For matching seams, to the side. Where a lot of seams will be intersecting, open. For border strips that are pieced together, open.

But you do whatever works best for you!

I like to press to the side with seams opposite to each other when sewn together. (I can't think what that is called.

I don't like pressing open cuz the seams don't want to make easily

I played with pressing them open and to the side...
If you are pressing to the side and a seam feels bulky, then I repress them open.
As other's have mentioned, if there are going to be many seams in one area, it is best to press them all open...

Bearisgray has a PDA and she has shown a big variety of blocks that she has been working on. She shows the front and the back of them. You can really see from the back how and why she has pressed them as she did. It might benefit you to check this out...
