I have been considering that in my new room. If you use them how do you like them?

I have never heard of them. I keep mine in drawer in sewing desk .

I never thought to use them for scissors... Could beat looking for them in the drawer... I have quite a few pair... Of course, the trick for me would be to remember to put them back up there... :) :) (What can I say - I know my own limitations)

Kara I got so frustrated with myself over never having a pair of scissors where I needed them that I tied a pair to each machine and to the cutting table. That way I could not steal them from myself and lose them. I need to do something like that with my pincushions too. I am forever looking for a pin cushion when I need one.

Caution: using magnet near computerized sewing machines.

Just a head up....

Really Texasquilts. I hadn't thought of that. Do you know how close is too close?

I had heard magnets and computers don't get along. I don't know how close is too close.

I just keep the essentils at every spot....
scissors....snips....ripper....marker....pencil... .extension magnet....pin cushions.....etc....

I got a thing you put around your neck...tried it.... kept poking me in the belly and strangling myself....enough of that!.....:-).....

I've had every kind of scissor trick known to quilters to make sure they can be right w/in reach...:)Prob the most dangerous one for me was the one you actually attach to yourself and the scissors are on a string pull that retracts...not safe:)If you quilted in a standing position, this might work!LOL I did use that when I was hand quilting and kept the scissors ''on the piece I was quilting that way(pin it to the quilt). I find the best old method to easily find my scissors is a scissor 'faub'. You can make them yourselves! I found an old vintage type necklace...took a section out of it...attached a piece to be able to attach the faub to my scissors...and, no matter where I put them, they are easy to find and easy to pick up...even if by the end fo the faub:) This also makes your scissors different in a group and not mistaken for someone elses. I attach usually a charm or something on the very end. If you sew w/a basket by your chair , this is the tail that will be hanging over your sewing basket...so, you just grab the end of the faub and pull them out to use. Not only is it practical....but, fun finding faub stuff:)Skeat...who has the magnet pocket thing for snippets....I never use the magnet other then to hold the pocket where I need it:)

I have a mail and key holder on the wall in the sewing room. it has 4 "slots" to keep glasses, etc in and 5 cuphooks across the bottom originally used to hold keys, but I put a pair of scissors on each hook.. they are always near when I need them.
I too have paper and template scissors clearly marked so everyone knows which ones they are.
