My son and daughter-in-law came down today and brought my sewing machine. It was supposed to be a Singer. I had a little party for my husband as his birthday is Wednesday and the kids work and go to school, etc. on Wednesday. My daughter did not even come because her town 30 minutes up the road had a dusting of snow (that was her excuse). My son watched the Cowboy/Colts game and the kids went into the other bedroom to watch a movie. After they left I looked at the machine. It IS NOT a singer, it is a Kenmore. It has been in storage for 17 years and the thread and belt are dry rotted. I oiled it and cleaned it up. I will have to order a book because I don't understand all the dials on it.

I then went into the other bedroom to get my pins I left in there yesterday and all the cover was torn off the bed and every movie in the cases were in the floor. I was so disappointed I cried. I am not able tonight to pick them up so I just shut the door.

I feel your disappointment. Been there, done that. I hope tomorrow is brighter.

So sorry sounds like a bummer. Sometimes things are just more than we can bear. At least for this day. Stop, fix a cup of tea, take a deep breath say a prayer and know that tomorrow will be better. Know also that our hearts and prayers are also with you. This is how I have learned to get through some hard days. Bless you.

I look so forward to company coming but I also look forward to them leaving! Only to be left with the mess that you spoke about. Next time you will have to ask them if they've picked everything up that they got out. If they can't do it then the parents should help. I'm soooo sorry.

I find that a really good hard cry can be very healing sometimes. I hear there is actually medical basis to this.

Next year just take hubby out for a nice dinner. Avoid the stress especially if no one is gonna help celebrate.

Forget the tea. Make a couple of jolly ranchers. You'll really feel a lot better! LOL
