K, so it's just like an aerosol pain can, but the nozzle was weird and the stuff came out in strings and it kind of made blobs as it fell. I figured it was just like that and it would wash out. I did shake it really really well before using it too, so that's not the problem

It's called Sluyter feather spray 470. I bought it at a fabric store...

By the way, it's not really stiff, maybe just a tiny bit stiffer than the fabric that's not affected.

have you tried any of the stain remover for quilts???

mgshaw 12-24-2008 12:27 PM

mineral spirits is a product similar to paint thinner. I use it when refinishing wood for clean up. I have gotten it on my clothes more than once  and it has never hurt any of the fabric before so it might be worth a shot to try it.

Your mom will understand, what does the front look like. Best of luck, it could be a New Year present :?

Do you have a place to source Synthrapol detergent locally? You can get it at Dharma Trading. It removes impurities from fabrics as a prewash before dying fabrics. I wonder if it will work on stains.

Well, it doesn't show up as much in the front, here is a pic of the front.

one way out is you could make a patch or two with your name, date, etc etc on it and hand stitch it to the back over the stains. you could make the patches maybe heart shaped and write a little poem on one if you have to use more than one. maybe make it look like you did it all on purpose. your Mom will love it!

dojo has a good idea. I'm straining my brain trying to think of what to try....lemon juice?? I hope something works...it is really pretty!
