For 1 ticket on a raffle quilt ... NO... I would not pay $5.

I've only ever paid $1 or 6 for $5....and then another time someone had $2 or 3 for $5.
I think people are more apt to pay the $5, to get a few entries over paying $5 for a single entry. |
My guild sells them $1 for 1 or $5 for 10. Yup, $5 for 10. The theory is that people will buy the $5 (which they do) and the ticket is only the small cost of the paper.
Would I spend $5 for 1 ticket...only if I dearly loved the quilt or if I was donating to a specific cause. Normally I would not pay $5. Another organization I belong to sold tickets for $5 each and they made a lot less money than the guild who sells 10 for $5. Hope that helps. |
Sure would. DH gets on a football pool every week and it's $25 a square. The superbowl is $100 a square. That is just one football pool. So me buying $100 worth of raffle tickets is no big deal. At least it goes to promote a guild or charity. All quilt raffles in this area are 6 for $5.
