To sew and quilt smaller blocks ? Like for cell phones, etc.
for a beginner. ???? |
I think what is important for a beginner is to start with something easy, like an easy block, rail fence and many others. A beginner needs to practice that silly 1/4 inch (I am still practicing that one).
If you want to do a small block, why don't you try a larger test one first! |
Small blocks with small pieces require more finesse on the seam allowance (at least that's what I found for me) and are therefore harder to handle. I would recommend a regular-sized block used for a pot holder. Small project - no worries.

thankyou madquilter and I love your pix of you wrapped in beautiful quilt!

Hi there! Aren't you the woman who already made 2 quilts????
Or is that another person? :D I wouldn't recommend really small, either. |
yes i am
ok thanks |
I wouldn't try something that small til you feel at ease with your seam allowances.
|
It is easier for me to paper piece small blocks for those little projects :D:D:D
|
paper piece means?

I agree with the others, starting with something small could get way too confusing, so it's best to start with larger things. Place mats are perfect because they're small and if they don't come out perfect, oh well!
