The quilting cruise I went on was organized poorly by a LQS. We were on a Carnival cruiseship & they had us doing hand work only & in the disco lounge so hard plastic chairs & poor lighting. I've heard great reviews about cruises with KayeWood etc. where the machines are all provided, etc. so IF you get a chance, I would say only go with a company who has done it successfully many times before. I love to cruise & I love to quilt.... but I have to say the times spent in the classroom were when we were actually cruising so I missed out on alot of deck time.

I've been on the inner passage cruise to Alaska, and believe me, there was NOT time for quilting!!! Would have missed a lot of sight-seeing, etc.

However, if money is no object, a quilting cruise with friends, or "new" friends would really be FUN!!

Me three! DH and I took a cruise for our honeymoon and I loved it.

Do hubbies go on the cruises as well? I would like him to be with me because I don't imagine you are quilting 100% of the time.

I would LOVE to do this.... maybe someday! But I am fortunate that I take a quilting vacation every year with two quilting friends. We've been to Gatlinburg, TN, Hilton Head, NC, Wisconsin Dells, French Lick, IN, Boyne, MI, and Williamsburg, VA. This fall we're going to Cape Cod!

I want to go on one soon. From what I have read in quilting mags, the ones sponsored thru Stitchin Heaven, or advertised on the sites of the quilters like Kaye Wood, Carol DOak, etc. are the best. Cost a little more but they are organized so well. I wish they would do some that don't go to foreign or popular places. Just get on a ship and cruise while we quilt.

I think it sounds like so much fun!!!! Yes Spouses can go, a lot of times there will be something for the non-quilter to do too!
Someday.......
