My DD bought yards of that green and leaf print fabric for me to make curtains to hide a closet that had no door in her first apartment! I still have some in my stash. I haven't seen it anywhere until your picture. :-)

The one I made for a birthday last weekend went really fast (had to...started it on Thursday evening for Saturday birthday).

I did 4-1/2" strips of various butterfly fabrics alternating with 2-1/2" strips of lime green. Stitched the strips into a tube and cut 4-1/2" strips off the tube which I then alternated with 2-1/2" lime green strips.

This worked out to be 5 squares by 9 squares. By adding a 1" border then a 3" border it ended up being approximately 45x60.

I tied little narrow darker purple ribbon bows at each intersection.

You can see a picture on the Picture thread "Caitlin's birthday quilt"

You could easily make this whatever size you want by adding more and/or wider strips.

My Diamonds Are Forever is very quick and can be whipped up in a day or two. Have a quick peep at www.quiltingthejourney.com and go to The Quilt Gallery. I can send it to you today. Best wishes, Therese

I suggest that you cut the pieces for Wickedly Easy from a full width of fabric. Seems like FQs arent always exactly what they should be. This pattern uses every bit of a true FQ. I have made this several times.

How about a Take 5? Not a free pattern, but works up quickly.

take a look at this one. I made this in one week. I did the binding on the machine with the walking foot.
Its just strips as long and wide as you want them.
It could be just grid quilted or all over stippling for easy quilting.

Your choice is a bit involved for three weeks unless you have all the time in the world! I would save that one for another time. It is very nice.
