I think I corrupted my big sister ;)
 

My sister and her girls came to visit and we met up at my favorite LQS. She whispered to me that all the fabric choices were overwhelming and should buy enough for a quilt top or not buy anything? I told her to pick out some fat quarters that she liked. How many? 10, no wait, 12. So she did - 12 beautiful batiks and then 2 more 1/2 yard cuts of coordinating hand dyed fabrics. She brought them to my mom's and spread them out so she could see and touch them all. I love sharing my fabric addiction!

I corrupted one of my college friends! About a year ago she told me she wanted to make a wall hanging similar to a OBW I have. She had not sewn since high school (we are retired), and I had some fabric in my stash that she liked. She had a specific place for the quilt, was going to make it, and that would be her one and only project. At that point she didn't have a sewing machine, so she came to my house to work on it. Now, a year later, she has acquired a small stash, enough fabric for 2 bedsize planned projects and a sewing machine. She blames me.

That is too funny. My sister that is 15 months older than me just came for a visit for a week. She is just getting into quilting. While our mom was alive, who loved quilting, she would not have anything to do with quilting, even though she was a very good seamstress. She inherited several things from our mom's sewing room last summer and is now starting to quilt. When she was here we went to several quilt stores, sewed mondo bags together, and I intrpduced her to the wonderful world of batiks. I have not met a batik I did not like. LOL I shared the passion of quilting with my mom and now I can share it with my sis. Sisters are great and I treasure them now more then I ever have in my life. When I lost my mom, I wondered who could ever possibly fill that void. Now I know why God gives us sisters.

That is so sweet!! My mother sewed and we did sew a lot together. When she was living with me, she would help me a lot. I am an only child, but my DDIL has taken an interest in quilting now. We now sew together and go to retreats together several times a year. (Can't believe she leaves 3 kids from ages 1 to 13 at home). Nothing like sewing together as a bonding experience. You begin to understand how much the old quilting bees meant to the pioneer women. Linda in MO

I don't live close to my sister so I envy and admire those of you that have that connection with yours. I love my sister dearly and wish we could share the love of quilting.

My mother and I corrupted my youngest sister. She has 7 children now, so sewing for all of them should keep her pretty busy.

I corrupted my mom the year the Federal Building in Oklahoma City was bombed by Timothy McVeigh. Now she has nearly surpassed me in what she'll try and what she sews, LOL! But she's also 87 years old (though more energetic and bright than I am at 67!) and one has to see the handwriting on the future wall! .....her stash and mine, oh my. Poor daughter or mine!

My sister has always sewn as long as I can remember. She'd make stuff out of sub-quality fabric. After I got into quilting and introduced her to the 'good stuff', she's gun-ho about quilting. She's made some gorgeous quilts. BTW, my BIL isn't too happy with me. :) Now, she's my mentor because she understands the basics of sewing and that helps me a lot. Some day soon we're going to make a quilt together. Since she works, I hope to beat her but I doubt it. I'm slow as molasses. :)

Corrupted? No way!! You just introduced her to a different creative outlet. Addiction, maybe. Corruption, never.
