So sad... Taking younger DD to college today. It's time, I'm ready for that  But on top of that, we won't be home until late Sunday - so I'm going to miss the mystery! Will check in when I return, though, to see everyone's lovely mini's. Have fun!
|
Ohhhhh Bobbin. I didn't do that.
Thanks!!! |
If all of my lights are the same will that still look ok?

Your colors are very strong, Thimblebug ... and strong is GOOD!
If I had seen Cutebuns' selection, I would have done something different <g> ... not a problem! I had already decided to make a second one that was more organized, but I am trying to learn how to do "scrappy" REALLY good! |

Here is the first step for today

Norban <wave> that is a nice variety you have there. A touch of pink will make it sparkle, I am thinking.

Lay your strips out. Lower your stitch length to about 1.5. Sew the strips together
making sure that you have them in the right order. (I used orange as my Med). Strip 1: A 2: B,H 3: C,H,H 4: D,H,H,G 5: E,H,H,G,H 6: F,H,H,G,H,H |
Thanks omak, it was hard picking fabric when you didn't know what was coming next. So we'll see!
|
I like everyones colors
I am also in chat if anyone wants to chat as well along the way. |
Press seams open, when pressing, unless you trimmed down a bit, they should meet in
the middle on the one inch strips, but not overlap, good way to check if everything is turning out the right size. (you can press each seam as you go along or all at once at the end of putting them together. ) |

Special instructions if your strips are in more than one piece.
Sew until the one strip ends, add on the next piece and carry on, if there is another strip after, sew in all along the pieces, joining then together. ( you can get the ends closer than this, I was trying to make sure that you could see what I was doing. ) *Careful when sewing the strips together, it is easy to stretch one while sewing, when you press you will find that they have a tendency to curve to one side. 3 1 2 |

When you press it is easy to check if your seams are 1/4 inch, the edges will meet but not overlap. Try and be as accurate as you can be, of course we all now things match up better that way.

too bad I couldn't figure that strippy, butting ends together thing before I did what I did ... but, I have gotten used to doing things the hard way! LOL
|
Sorry cute buns, but my computer won't download instructions fast enough. Will bookmark and do it later. Thanks for your time and input
|
I am posting them right in the thread as well if you still want to give it a go
|
GRRRRR .... so, NOW my machine decides to pitch a hissy fit ...
I will have to go to the Operation 1161 sewin at the LQS and be back around noon. I think I will take this thing with me to at least get the step one done for when I get back. Please know that I will be thinking and praying for all of you and your machines <g> <wave> |
