Does anyone make modern molas? Molas are reverse applique made uniquely by the people of the San Blas Islands in Panama.
I wonder if anyone has continued the art.

Wasn't there a display of their work in the San Jose, CA area a while back?

I saw some at a quilt show in Somers, NY in May 2009. I don't remember the vendor's name, but they were beautiful.

I was able to buy a few molas on ebay a few years ago and made a quilt with them. Check out molas there. I think they have a good selection at reasonable prices. Good luck.

No, but I purchased a few when we went throught the Panama Canal a couple of years ago.
