My machine won't turn on!!!!!
 

What am I going to do??? I worked like crazy on a project last night and when I turned my machine off it was warm. I was trying to machine applique some things - you may have seen another post I wrote about my satin stitching not laying flat. Now today nothing! I have (like everyone else) so many Christmas projects I'm working on! This year we aren't going to have a Christmas for financial reasons so I was trying to use my stash to make some things. I can't afford a repair bill now! I'm sorry for writing this - I just needed a shoulder to cry on. :'(

Oh, I know that last minute rush and no machine! Take a breath, try the old standards: unplug and replug at the plug end (check with another appliance like a lamp to make sure the actual outlet is working, you might have blown a fuse/tripped a breaker). Unplug and replug at the machine, it could have slipped out. I would also check the footpedal to make sure it is connected, no telling what wil spook it. I would also try the footpedal (mash down) to see if it is just not turning on all the lights, etc and might just jog it. Good luck! Linda

Try everything that linda8450 said. It's probably something simple. If all else fails, see if you can borrow a machine from a friend. Good luck.

I had broken wires where the plug went into the sewing machine. I wanted my DH to permanently attach the plug to the wires of the machine but that didn't work so we have it taped tight and I can't take the plug out. Try the wall plug, turn the end over and try it that way in the wall, be sure the light switch is on if that is a wall socket controlled by a light switch, that happens more than you think. If you know someone who knows a bit about electricity, have him use his test light to see if you are getting power to the machine. If the motor had burned out, you would have smelled something like smoke and hot wires. Let us know what you find out.

Oh gosh I am so sorry!! I hope it turns out to be something simple!!!

Hope you get it working soon or find someone to borrow a machine from. I would let you borrow one, but your pretty far away. :( Keeping my fingers crossed for you!!!!

Try looking to see if you tripped a circuit breaker ...I did that once with my machine when my daughter turned on her hair dryer and we discovered we were on the same circuit. I reset the circuit breaker and plugged into another outlet.

i don't have any additional suggestions... just want to wish you well and hope it is something easy.

waiting to hear if you found the cause. I had a problem like that once, and the cord had come undone from the foot control. I, too, would lend you a machine if yiou were closer. Let us know if you find the culprit.
