One word of caution to those swapping. Please do not share snail mail addies on this site. I would suggest you share email addies in private messages. You can never be too careful.

Can I get an "AMEN" from the back?

Am I the only one who misses knowing your neighbor like he was family and being able to trust him more?

sigh .... :?

Norah 02-11-2007 12:34 PM

Definitely AMEN for that

Not only will I AMEN but I'll jump up and down with the idea that I'm likely the last one in the world that has their telephone number on their email. I WANT to trust people, I WANT my life as a child on the party line back!

But Boo, you made a good point, but it breaks my heart to be so feaful!

mimisharon and all,
I am certainly interested in this idea, but could only send blocks or fat quarters, actually, I have a few larger pieces and I too can get busy scanning. I am looking for a ton of sage or jade greens and neutrals. I have started a king size Drunkards Path and know I don't have nearly enough, also buttery yellows for some reason are hard to find here and I have an idea for a cottage type quilt for my shabby chic bedroom with yellow, pale rose, sage green and some blues...anyone out there, I would love to trade for anything I have. I will start scanning in the morning....just tell me how you all want to go about this and of course, I need to know what the rules are for sharing our personal address and email...I have no problem letting them be known, but what are the rules? Thanks, Janie

Buttery yellows are just plain hard to find. I have 3 that are complete solids and one that reads like a solid. Only 1 is all cotton (the almost-solid). Two I could cut fat quarters from. The others I just have big squares and rectangles left over from other projects. (Ok. One is from a sheet I cut up. It was the only thing I could find in the right color. LOL)
Are you looking for solids, tone-on-tone, prints? Do you have anything already you need to coordinate with? I have a few country-type florals I think would work well in a shabby chic setting.

I hope we don't need any rules other than common sense, good manners and fair play. I have things I could part with even if I wasn't getting anything in return. Some I'd only want to trade. Some they'll have to bury with me, I'm so greedy about them. LOL

When two people decide to talk trade, they should just find each other here, then open private commo using the PM to start then whatever makes them most comfortable.

Patrice, that all sounds great and I will try to scan tomorrow something that I already own of the yellow I am talking about...Are you looking for anything in partaicular that I could share or keep my eyes out for? Also, I just this second realized that there is a link here at the top to send a private message, so I will go there now...It takes me a while to catch on, but I usually don't forget things once I learn them.....lol...Janie

Patrice, well looks like the Private message thingy doesn't like me, I clicked on it and got Becky from a message she sent me. How do I address it to you...see, I still need to learn more....Actually on the yellows, since they are sooooooooooo hard to find, if its a creamy, buttery yellow, I'll take anything, tone on tone, small prints, solids...and I guess since I pre-wash, it shouldn't matter if it isn't 100% cotton...surprise me...I'll send you my address if I can figure out how to get it to send to you....and amen on the common sense and courtesy. I guess we all get a little nervous because it is the internet, but, of course you can't send me anything without an address...

You have to be Logged In to send a PM. Just click on my user name in this response. It'll open up a little window showing a little info. You'll also see a little button for "Private Message". Click, type the message, then click "submit".
Also, when you're logged in, you'll see "Private Messages" on the second line of menu options under the very top board title. If you click there, you'll be able to access you inbox and sent box. If you have any messages in your inbox, it'll show those first.

I've never owned a PO Box, but would that be a bit safer than your actual home mailing address? It would work for smaller items like quilt blocks, but I don't know about larger quantities.
Just an idea. :)
