QAYG with tied backing
I am still in the beginner phase so going to try a new concept on QAYG with tied backing. I have made a QAYG with adding sashing between all the blocks. It took me a long time to do once it came to the sashing all the squares together. My question is would it turn out ok if I done the QAYG with just the front blocks quilted to the batting and then connecting the QAYG blocks together then adding the backing and just SID along each line of the blocks and then tieing from the front to the back (the ties coming out to the backing) maybe at the corner of the blocks and 1 more tie in the middle of each block?

Sounds like it would work fine, give it a try & be sure to show us pictures of the front and back of your finished quilt. As long as your batting is quilted as much as it requires and the backing is held enough to keep it stable when the quilt is used/laundered it is all good. Your plan sounds like a pretty good option

In a recent thread:

one of the responses (#5) was from someone who does something very similar. Just make sure that you place the ties close enough that the backing doesn't shift too much.
