Default right side and wrong side?

This is a crazy question and I feel very like I should know this.. but I don't....

I am quilting a full size quilt doing stippling on my new Brother and will be using a fabric that is like minky, I think...my DF who I am making this quilt for wanted something warm and soft so she bought this fabric.. when I seen it I wasn't to happy but then why not try it..I'm still not sure if it is minky, it is a furry fabric very soft and stretches one way more then the other.

The fabric is hard to tell which side is the right side and which side is the wrong side, or is there no right or wrong side with this fabric? The fabric is furry, almost like something a teddy bear would be made from, on one side the fur is longer then the other side, the short side is almost like a velvet but maybe a little bit longer and when you brush the fabric you can see the nape get darker, the other longer side dose the same thing when you brush it to one side..

So is there a right and wrong side to this fabric? I have already spray basted and pinned it with the longer side showing but I guess I could take it apart and put the short side showing... then again the spray basting might make it hard to push the quilt around in the machine..as it wold be on the right side also if I flipped the fabric.. oh boy what I don't get myself into.. .... for some reason I could not upload a picture ...sorry..

Here's a tip for using fleece, so I imagine it would work for any stretchy fabric? https://sewing.patternreview.com/review/review/347

oh boy if this is true, then I have the wrong side showing ... what do you think I should do as the quilt is already sprayed basted and pinned... could I still take it part and would it be hard to quilt with both sides of the backing sprayed? or does the spray disappear after a little while and won't be real sticky on the outside of the quilt when I quilt this..

I believe the spray basting washes out. Read the label on your spray can.

IMO, if you like the way the longer side looks, I think you should just leave it like that. Or ask your friend which side she would prefer - she just might want it that way, and it would save you the headache of changing it.

It curls toward the wrong side if you stretch it slightly. But in my opinion, unless there is a noticable difference in the color or pattern I wouldn't worry about changing it.

If you like the side you have showing use it, the fabric is ( double sided) you can use it either way. I've done quilts both ways, it doesn't hurt anything either way

Thanks everyone, I never knew how to tell the right side from the wrong side but now I do... Thanks sop much..

getting back to my quilt I think I will leave it as it is ...I just don't want to have to take all the pins out and then there is the thing about the spray basting that would have me worried... it looks ok but as I look at it closer I can see where it would look better with the short side showing..as far as asking my friend I think I will just quilt it and say nothing, it still looks ok and it is soft so should be ok with her... but next time ,if there is one, I will know how to tell the right side... Thanks everyone for your support...I always can count on you ladies for your help on anything..Thanks so much...will post some pictures when it is done..

You paid for both sides of the fabric So, the choice should be which you want to be seen. Strictly your choice as far as I am concerned.
