Default questions for Juki owners

I've been looking online at Juki's (closest dealer is almost 100 miles from me). I don't have a particular model in mind, but wondered what the throat sizes are for the different machines. What I saw on Juki's site I think is measuring the whole arm area. I just want to know how much space wide, high, front to back the throat is on the various machines.

Thanks!

My Juki TL98QE has a 9-1/2" throat, never measured the heighth. I bought sight unseen from internet. What sold me was price, delivery and the fact it was industrial strength, all metal parts. Straight stitch only, I have quilted many quilts on it. I got a sew steady extension table made for it.

My 98q is 9" from needle to the right of the needle and 6" from bed to top of machine. I love, love, love it!

It's funny, the measurements on my Viking Sapphire are 9" x 4-3/4", but the design is such that closer to the needle, there is a lot less space. I was wondering if it was enough difference between the 2 to justify the expense. I think there is. Hubby mentioned getting me one for Christmas. I might take him up on that offer! LOL

Next question - since the nearest dealer is 100 miles away, what can I expect to do for maintenance on this machine? It doesn't have an oil pan, does it? I wonder if my regular sewing machine repair guy works on them...I think I will have to talk to him before I consider it. Who knows, he might even have a used one in his shop.
