    Default Quilting Dilema

About four years ago I started a quilt. Got it all cut out and started the assembly process. Then a few things happened, mainly a move and the need to make some gift quilts. I just finished up a quilt and while waiting for it to be quilted at the long armer I dug out this neglected project. Amazingly I found everything for it since I really didn't put it in a project bag or anything. Well, while working on it last night, I realized another reason that it didn't get any further than it did. When I ordered the layer cake for it I didn't realize there were two colorways and I got the wrong one. Of course, it is now out of production and I couldn't get it if I wanted to. To be honest, I'm just not "feeling" this one. I made a block to see if that made any difference and while it did, I'm still not sure I am going to like the finished project. So, do I A) Finish the top and let it languish until I find someone to gift it to, B) Totally complete it and donate to an organization that is in need of raffle gifts, or C) Put the entire thing up for adoption! The pattern was off of the ModaBakeShop web-site so whomever would adopt it can easily get the pattern.

    Thoughts?

Thanks in advance and have a beautiful day!!!

    Kelly

If you have a photo of the fabric, some one may be able to help with that.

There is always a way to find older fabrics by asking for it on this board or checking various sites such as eBay. If you are NOT happy with the quilt top, you can gift it to a friend or donate it to charity.

Life is too short to feel miserable over a quilt. Answer A: I learned remove things from my home that bring up negative feelings. It feels like clutter. Answer B: Do you think that knowing it will go to a good cause will motivate you to finish the quilt? Answer C:If it feels like a chore, put it up for adoption. Someone else will love it.

You may not want to do a quilt but maybe repurpose it? How about a bed runner, table topper, placemats, couch protector for the pets, sewing machine cover.....

I think I am going to go ahead and finish it and then donate to some charity that needs raffle items. I've been looking at the block I made all morning long and have concluded that part of the problem is that I am frustrated at getting the wrong colorway. If I can put that out of my mind and use what is already there, I think it will turn out fine. It's kind of like getting something you really really want for your birthday but it's not the color you initially wanted but over time grows on you.
