I am thinking about buying a Michley SS-602 sewing machine to quilt in an RV. Has anyone purchased this machine? I believe that I can plug a cord directly into the machine that will plug into the cigarette lighter type of plug. This would avoid using the extra power to run a converter. I understand there are battery operated machines but then I would just have to recharge the batteries all the time. Any thoughts or experience with this machine?

I plug my machine in the electrical wall socket of the motorhome. I have Pfaff and my friend has a Bernia. We take our machines many times when traveling.

Consider where you will store it. I have to keep mine under the table - awkward to get at. My regular machine is too heavy to easily get out so I got a lighter one.
