Quilting suggestions
I need some help figuring out how to quilt this. I do not FMQ, so I usually do strict lines or gentle curves. My biggest issue is what thread? I really don't want the thread to distract from all the characters, but there are so many colors. There is also a 5" black border the whole way around that I put on after this picture was taken. Any ideas?

How big are the blocks? Check and see how far apart your quilting can be with your batting. Do a design in the sashing only if it allows large spacing and in the border. That would leave your blocks free of quilting. If too big a block for that SITD around just a few small pieces in each block to anchor it.

That's beautiful & so pretty with all the colors. I'm not sure of the thread color for this but I do know that grey thread seems to be hidden in quilts that I've used that color on. I'm normally a stitch in the ditch quilter so that's probably what I would do.

My grandsons love Minecraft too :-) This is a pretty special quilt, and will require special care quilting. l think it would be well worth the effort to switch thread with each block...green on the creeper, grey on the zombie etc., then black in sashing & border ( those could have grey to ''show up'' anything fancy.)

What a great quilt! Would you consider switching thread colors for each block? If not, I would guess that a light gray or white would be the least conspicuous. I like the idea of straight lines 1-3 inches apart.

I would break up all the linear movement in the black with your gentle curves in black thread. Within the blocks, I would use an invisible thread and do some sort of echo quilting. I do not care for allover heavy quilting so I would check the batting and see how far apart your quilting can be. Then I would find a central element in the block and echo stitch it. Great top!
