I just quilted on my LA 2 of the mine craft quilts for a customer. I just did a simple meandering, edge to edge. It turned out looking very good.

I like this suggestion! sounds easy but very effective look in my opinion!

You can use the smoke-colored monofilament. The cross-hatch idea is a good one. That keeps you in straight-line quilting mode.

I ended up going with invisible thread in a crosshatch about 6" apart. It looks awesome. the back is also pieced, so this complemented that as well. Lots of great suggestions here that I will keep in my back pocket for future endeavors. When I get the binding finished (should be this weekend) I will post pictures of the finished product, front and back. I know intellectually that my grandson will love it, but I still hope he likes it :lol
