Let me start by saying...I have a Janome 1600 series machine a Grace frame and wanted to improve the quality of my stitches so DH bought me a surestitch from a dealer I thought that was so sweet! Well guess what no matter what it is set on it just stitches tiny little stitches or my thread breaks or better yet skips bunches of stitches that seamed to look okay at first! Well I adjusted Tension til I am blue, rethreaded and just want to give up! I did contact dealer that said maybe the little blue box is malfunctioning! But are is there anyone that has used this surestitch that could give advise before I jump off the deep end screaming? HELP. Thanks for letting me vent. Jan

not sure about this modle, does it have sensors on the tracks? maybe they're too tight/loose.

i struggled endlessly with the Sure Stitch for weeks and i finally gave it back and got the Quilters Cruise Control and it has worked beautifully from the moment it was installed.

I had all the issues you mentioned. I talked to the man who sold the machine to me and he asked if the fabric was level with the bed of the machine. The rods that the quilt top and back roll up on were too high. I lowered them and the thread and needles stopped breaking and the stitches improved with a little adjusting of the tention. We did have the roller in the wrong position, but figured that out on my own.
