My Granddaughter made me an apron with pressed on decals which don't stand up to washing. When I tried to sew them on my needle got gummed up and won't stich. Any suggestions? :?: :?:

When sewing scout patches, I used a jeans needle and cleaned the needle when I was done.

a new sharp jeans needle or a sharp works well-needs to be new & sharp. i keep a small square of cotton with sewing machine oil on it next to the machine to use for cleaning off the residue that builds up on the needle.
