Default She is getting a new machine

Nooooooooooooo not me, I just got my new machine last year,
    and I LOVE her.

The "she" I'm talking about is my oldest daughter. She had moved
in with us for a couple months and she watched me making mug rugs,
doll quilts, and other small items she wanted to start making some also
but she didn't have a machine or anything that is needed to get her started.
She has been wanting to get a sewing machine heck she has already started
on building (very small at this point) stash. Come to think of it funny she
doesn't even own a pair of fabric scissors, rotary cutter, cutting mat or anything
else that she will need (much less want which she hasn't learned about YET).

For OVER 2 years I have been "lugging" my OLD sewing machine around in
the trunk of my car waiting for the money to take it in for cleaning, tune up
and minor repairs. So last Friday I decided to take it in and OMG I could
not believe what they was going to charge for an old mechanical machine
$170.00 yeah you read that correct.

I lugged that machine right back out to my car, ain't NO WAY in heck am I
spending that kind of money for a machine that I only paid $300 for 11 years
ago. So my daughter is giving me $200 and asked me to go pick a pick out
for her since i know more about what she will need as a beginning machine.

She will be going "shopping" at a small private fabric shop called "a Passion 4 Sewing"
for a clue to this little fabric store see my signature). Yes you got it! she is going
to come to my home and go through ALL my bins (50+) of fabric and select stuff
she likes/wants. The only BIG restrictions to this is there ARE certain fabrics that
I will NOT share with her (not while I am living), and if I have 1 yard or less she
    can't have it.

I wonder if it will be noticeable that I destashed any afterwards? time will tell.

As for ALL the things she will need and doesn't have well that will be coming
from me also as I have enough "extras" to set up at LEAST 4-5 quilters.

    LOL!
I have a huge stash, it's ridiculous actually, and share generously with friends whenever they need something or just want to browse.

But I also have quite a few boxes of "special-for-my-hands-only-touch-it-and-I'll-kill-you" fabric.
    And I'm serious. ;-)

I think we all have some of "those" fabrics. So glad that she can shop at your house. I'm so tickled for you that your daughter is going to sew/quilt. I keep hoping one of mine will take interest but so far no go.

You are BOTH lucky!! She because she will have a great teacher/mentor, and you because you will have a great quilting buddy!!

Why not invest in a nice solid vintage machine for your daughter?? You should be able to pick one up for that price. They make great learning machines, and hardly ever "break".

Have fun, my three year old is already eyeing her cachine( her word for sewing machine) she said she is going to make whistles and dresses on her cachine. gets me excited even though she can't do anything yet that we will be able to share something together. Enjoy your time with her, that mother daughter bond is something special

I was hoping to have her come over tomorrow (Thursday) to go
through the fabric to pick out stuff that she likes/wants.

But in light of me being sick I don't want her catching this bug I
    have, so maybe next week.

My hubs said that we was going to help her get a new machine.
I have decided to get her the new Singer One. I will get to play
on it some because I will have to teach her how to set it up, and
    all that fun stuff.
